Eco design and digital sobriety: sustainable digital training with TAKOMA
Within the TAKOMA Group, we are convinced that digital innovation can – and should – be more sustainable. With our ambitious ESG initiative, and having signed the Sustainable IT Charter, we place digital sustainability at the heart of our strategy, notably through eco design !
Digital trainings with positive impacts !
Our ambition ? To create eco designed training content, with low carbon footprints but without comprising the pedagogical efficiency or our client’s expectations.
Thanks to an internally-led comparative study on conception and production of one same e-learning module (equivalent objectives, length and content), we’ve identified several concrete actionable points :
- Optimised pedagogical format choice (video, audio, interactions)
- Multimedia file weight reduction (images, animations, etc.)
- Designing content to be modular and reusable
- Picking “sober” development tools (Articulate Storyline, Rise, Bilim)
These best practices can now be integrated to each step of the life cycle of our digital training projects : from need analysis to end of life of content, while passing through pedagogical design, technical production and usage assistance.
